Bridging the Gaps One Community at a Time
Cure Violence East (CVE) is a community-based violence intervention program serving Wilkinsburg, Homewood, East Hills, and Penn Hills. Using the nationally recognized Cure Violence public health model, CVE works to prevent shootings and retaliatory violence by identifying and mediating conflicts before they escalate. Through trusted community relationships, street outreach, victim support, case management, community engagement, and partnerships with local organizations, CVE addresses the root causes of violence while connecting individuals and families to critical resources. Our mission is to build safer, healthier communities where conflicts are resolved without violence and every resident has the opportunity to thrive. The Cure Violence East team consists of community residents with live experiences from Wilkinsburg, Homewood, Penn Hills, and East Hills who work to interrupt violence and support those in need.
