The African American Cultural Center home is the August Wilson Center for African American Culture.  This architectural gem, designed by renowned architect, Allison Williams, has a 490 seat theater, dance studio, over 10,000 square feet of gallery space and various meeting rooms.  This African American Cultural Center presents nationally and internationally recognized artists on the stages and in the galleries, as well as provides arts education and enrichment opportunities for local arts lovers of all ages.

Founded in 1974, and located in the heart of the Cultural District at the O’Reilly Theater, the mission of Pittsburgh Public Theater is to provide artistically diverse theatrical experiences of the highest quality.

Pittsburgh Public Theater also strives to serve, challenge, stimulate and entertain while operating in a fiscally responsible manner. The Public shares its resources with the community through education and outreach initiatives intended for a wide range of people with the goal of expanding and diversifying the audience while enriching the community.
