Founded in 1993, GBA is an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization – and one of the oldest regional green building organizations in the United States. GBA proudly serves Pittsburgh and the 26 counties of Western Pennsylvania, with stakeholders across the Mid-Atlantic, United States, and the world.

The African American Cultural Center home is the August Wilson Center for African American Culture. This architectural gem, designed by renowned architect, Allison Williams, has a 490 seat theater, dance studio, over 10,000 square feet of gallery space and various meeting rooms. This African American Cultural Center presents nationally and internationally recognized artists on the stages and in the galleries, as well as provides arts education and enrichment opportunities for local arts lovers of all ages.
